YourJobAgent is a job-search assistant: a web app, an Android app, and the YourJobAgent Assist browser extension. This policy covers all three. It describes what the software actually does — if you find a discrepancy, treat it as a bug and tell us at [email protected].

What we collect

• Your account — name, email address and a password hash.
• Your CV and profile — the CV file you upload, the text extracted from it, a profile photo (uploaded, or the headshot found in your CV), and the contact details, work history, skills, languages and personal details you enter.
• Your application answers — the reusable answers used to fill application forms, plus your job preferences, salary expectations and target roles.
• Documents we generate — tailored CVs and cover letters, stored as files.
• Activity — which jobs were scored for you, which applications you have, and events recording when a form was filled, including the URL and page title of the application page.

What the browser extension sends

The extension does nothing until you connect it with a device token and press Fill on an application page. When you press Fill, it sends to this service:

• the page URL and title;
• a description of each visible form field — its label, name, placeholder, type, whether it is required, and the available options of any dropdown. It does not send values already typed into the form;
• up to 6,000 characters of the page’s text, so answers can be grounded in the job description.

It receives back the values to fill and, where the form asks for a file, your CV or cover letter. Password fields and payment fields (card number and similar) are excluded entirely: they are neither described to the server nor filled.

After you have filled a form, the extension also watches that page for an application-confirmation screen so your application can be recorded; if it finds one it sends that page’s URL and title. It does not watch pages you have not filled, and it sends nothing at all if no device token is stored.

Your device token stays in the extension’s own storage and is only ever sent to YourJobAgent. It is never exposed to the job site you are applying on. Tokens expire 90 days after they are issued, and you can revoke one at any time under Settings → Devices.

Who else sees your data

• DeepSeek — we use the DeepSeek API to read your CV, score jobs, write tailored documents and decide which answer belongs in which form field. The text of your CV, your answers, job descriptions and the form-field descriptions above are sent to that API to do this. DeepSeek is operated from China, so this processing takes place outside the EU.
• We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with employers. Nothing is transferred to a third party except as described here.
• There is no analytics or tracking code in the web app, the Android app or the extension.

Where it is stored

On servers we operate, in a Postgres database and on disk for files. Access is restricted to the operator of this service.

Deleting your data

Settings → Data & privacy has two controls. Export gives you a JSON copy of your profile, preferences, answers, applications, documents and inbox. Delete account removes your account and everything attached to it: profile, answers, preferences, applications, inbox, device tokens, your uploaded CV and photo, every generated document, cached form mappings and your activity history. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.

You can also ask us to export or delete your data by writing to [email protected]. If you are in the EU or UK you have the right to access, correct, export, restrict or delete your personal data, and to complain to your data-protection authority.

Retention

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. Delete the account and it is removed.

YourJobAgent is a personal-use tool provided as-is. You are responsible for reviewing every application before you submit it — the extension never submits a form for you.
